Quick Update - After a While

Just a quick update on how things seem to be progressing with my new Scientology neighbors in Old Town Pasadena.  After six weeks in their new building, things seem to be settling down.  A lot.

I reported early in August that from 25 to 50 folks worked in the building in Old Town.  I can now report, based on my daily observation, that this number was over inflated significantly.  Or perhaps, there was an initial onslaught of devotee/employees.  Either way, its now my observation that only about 10-25 people work in the building on a daily basis.

I can report that they all still smoke a great deal.  Several of the full time folks really have serious smoking issues, and spend seemingly every available moment in the rear of the building, smoking like chimneys and incessantly talking on their cell phones.  Its not company business either.

There has been a noted decline in evangelistic efforts.  No more uniformed folks on street corners, which happened for about the first 2 days they were opened.  Careful walking past the front door, though.  There is a Perma- Open House going on in the building, and you might be asked in by a semi-friendly door person.

But really, there is no one inside the building daily, save for a skeleton crew of bartender school clad folk.

This is all very odd to me.  I cannot understand the revenue model for this "religion" at all.  That is all for now.....
